About Me

Welcome to Life of Her Own. I’m a woman in late 30s with diverse interests ranging from feminism, progressive politics, travel, literature, business and much more. For as long as I can remember, I have put myself on the back-burner and sacrificed my own needs in order to serve others. As a result, I have been suffering from severe burnout for the past couple of years. This blog is an attempt to reconnect with myself and nurture my soul, so that I can more effectively serve others.

I once used to love to travel, read and dance. And then I caught the social justice bug and have worked tirelessly to try to make this world a better place through the field of education. I stopped traveling, reading and dancing. I even stopped exercising, eating well and sleeping- and instead started working, working and working. And when I’m not working, I’ve been busy helping other people fight battles to make this work a more inclusive place. It would be an understatement to say that I am exhausted.

It is my goal with this blog that I learn who I am again, what I love to do, and what makes me happy. I just want my life back, or perhaps I even need to rebuild my life and find out who I am behind my workaholic self. This blog is an attempt for me to sit down and focus on myself and my life for a change. I am taking my life back and starting all over again. Welcome to my journey!!
