Three weeks ago, I created a makeshift calendar that I placed on the refrigerator so that I could track my fitness progress. I’ve been surprised at how motivated that it has made me, so today I decided that once a week I am going to blog about my fitness progress on a weekly basis! I need something more “permanent” than just a paper on the fridge and I need to feel that I am accountable to telling other people. I have included below all of my workouts that I have completed over the past three weeks. As you can see, I have gotten a lot more active lately, in large part because I wanted to burn off the calories from the holidays, but also because I am starting to make fitness a habit that I must do in order to take care of myself. I am really proud of myself!

Thursday, December 20, 2012: Stationary bike for 30 minutes and Elliptical for 13 minutes! (The machines said I burned 350 calories)
Friday, December 21, 2012: Rested!
Saturday, December 22, 2012: Ran one lap and walked 3.1 miles

This week hasn’t finished, so I will wait until Sunday to post it. One thing that I have begun to incorporate into my training this week, based on my personal trainer’s suggestions, is to try to burn at least 700 calories in a cardio session. Monday it took me 48 minutes on the treadmill to burn 700 calories, and so it’s definitely a tough goal that I will need to work up to. This week I have also noticed that I am struggling with motivation and my energy levels during workouts. But, yay to me, for keeping active overall!

What fitness have you done this week?
